National Apprenticeship Week May be Over, But We’re Just Getting Started

Are you curious about how apprenticeships can fuel business growth and inject fresh energy into your team?
National Apprenticeship Week may be over, but at deckpro, we continue to advocate the value of these schemes (tune into our latest podcast to hear more)! We'll soon be welcoming a new intake of apprentices through our partnership with Bedford College - and here's why it's a great initiative...
It's more than just good business—it’s a way to future-proof your organisation, drive growth, and build a highly skilled and loyal team.
Kathryn Lusk, Group Head of Business Development at Bedford College, summed it up perfectly:
"Experience tells us that an apprenticeship is an incredible opportunity for both the apprentices and the employer. From an apprentice perspective, it’s an opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours and fundamentally build a strong foundation for a successful career. For employers, it’s an investment in fresh talent, bringing new energy and developing a workforce tailored to the business needs."
Apprenticeships have been part of our story for years. Across all departments—from engineering to accounts—our apprentices have bought fresh ideas and new perspectives to the business. We’ve seen first-hand how these schemes build confidence, skills, and shape careers.
Simon Newton, our Business Development Manager, shared his insight:
"What I like about apprenticeships is that they’re earning from day one and putting their skills into practice immediately. Helping people fulfill their potential and create the best life for themselves is incredibly rewarding."
And it’s not just talk. Many of our leaders started their careers as apprentices—including Simon Stockford, our Sales Manager. On our latest podcast, Simon shared:
"Look at apprenticeships, and look at them in detail. Don’t see them as a resource drain, but look at the rewards that can come out at the end of it."
With apprenticeships in the spotlight—including recent announcements from Keir Starmer prioritising these programs—we’re proud to continue developing future talent.
And since it’s Valentine’s Day, we couldn’t be prouder to show some love to all our apprentices—past, present, and future. ❤️
