Our client at Alexandra Security was faced with significant flooding issues at their site. They were struggling with consistent flooding in their yard, particularly during the rainy season from November to March. This was getting progressively worse each year, exacerbated by a high water table at the site. The frequent flooding was causing disruptions to their daily operations and creating an ongoing concern, as the issue persisted. The need for a reliable and efficient solution to manage stormwater and prevent further flooding was critical to maintaining their operations.
Our Account Director quickly conducted a thorough site survey to understand the specific challenges. We identified the lowest point on the property and our engineers installed a 3,000-litre tank equipped with twin pumps. The wastewater pump system was designed to handle large volumes of stormwater, efficiently directing it into a nearby holding area. The dual-pump setup ensured that even during heavy rain, the system could manage excess water, preventing it from accumulating in the car park. Our client said that the system has performed beyond their expectations and only a few times has the secondary pump been required to handle the heavy rainfall.
The installation of the tank and dual-pump system had a significant positive impact on site. For years, the premises have remained free from flooding. The system has proven its efficiency, only needing to activate the second pump on rare occasions of extreme water inflow and meeting the demands even during the heaviest rainfalls, requiring minimal intervention.
